Prologue

It’s been awhile since my last post. I moved to Phoenix Arizona in September 2018 and found a new job. Havn’t found a lot of free time to manage this website.

During this New Zealand trip, there is a outbreak of China coronavirus. By far I would say it’s pretty ugly. Now, I want to squeeze some time and share some photos I took for this trip and previous trips in 2018, 2019. Who knows what’s gonna happen tomorrow. Mankind is very fragile against nature.

Day 1 Jan. 18 2020

Phoenix - San Francisco - Auckland - Queenstown

After 24 hours of flights plus connecting time, my cousin, his friends and I finally arrived at Queenstown.

New Zealand south island is so magical, it is totally worth it.

Day 2

Queenstown - Glenorchy - Queenstown

Day 3

Queenstown - Hooker Lake - Tekapo - Wanaka

Separted with my cousin and his friends, I started traveling alone for next couple of days.

It was heck of a day. I drove all day until the next morning and did a 10 km hike at Hooker Lake.

Day 4

Wanaka

I spend an entire day at Wanaka tried to recover from stunt I pulled the day before.

Iceland Trip Day 1

First thing I want to get off my chest is that wow Iceland, what an amazing country it is. It is just absolutely astonishing everywhere you go. It is truly the photographer's heaven.

I used my beloved Fujifilm X-H1 for this trip mainly because 2 reasons. First I really like fujifilm's jpg color. Velvia, Provia, Classic Chrome, you name it. I have been a fuji shooter since 2013. It all started with X-E1. It's a really compact camera far from perfect but it provides the color that none others do. Even though I only owning the X-H1 for a little over 3 months, I feel a lot of confident in it. Second reason is the size of fuji system. I think fuji x is the best travel system. The compactness of the camera and lens make them perfect on the go. Therefore, I brought my X-H1 and 3 lens with me on this trip.

For our first day at Iceland, we really only have half a day after the plane ride and car rental. The first place we visited is Reykjadalur Valley where you can take a hot spring bath after one hour hike. During the hike there are a lot of stuffs to see.

Later that day, we went back to Reykjavík and found a decent hostel to stay. It was my first time ever stayed at a hostel and it was a pretty cool experience. If you are on a budget, I totally recommend to give it a shot.

Favici Season 2 Part 2

This is the part 2 of the social media photo shoot for favici with models. We went to DTLA city hall and Walt Disney Concert to shoot most of these photos. The result came out astonishing.
